Think of Things Our Clients Need

Several of the people we serve travel on foot.  Especially in the heat of the summer, it would be nice to travel on a bicycle.  Bikes with baskets are especially nice!

SUPPORT THE JOURNEY HOME

Exploring The Journey Home Outreach Center

  • The doors open around 6:00 in the morning for breakfast in The Community Cafe'.  Breakfast is served to people who are on their way to work and school and to those who have no idea what the day holds for them.
  •  Our clients can spend time in the living room area reading a book, watching the news, or just gathering their thoughts.
  • The laundry facility provides two washing machines and two dryers--a place to wash clothes at no cost to the person.    Clean clothes help to create a positive appearance for someone who is going to work or looking for work.
  • Shower facilities are available, just like at home.  Personal hygiene is important to everyone, but it's especially important to people who need extra help with self-esteem.
  • A clean body, a full stomach, and clean clothes are the beginning to helping a person feel whole.  Bible Studies not only provide a time for sharing the Gospel, but they also offer opportunities for people to build their faith, discover hope, and develop guidelines for daily living.
  • The Clothes Closet is bigger than the closet in anyone's home.  This is the way many people get to shop for back-to-school clothes, Christmas outfits and gifts, and clothes for growing kids, men, and women.
  • Some of our clients have a place to cook food in at least a microwave, while others have no means of heating food.  For both types of people, we provide Food Boxes once a week with essential staples.
