We Need:

Think of Things Our Clients Need

Several of the people we serve travel on foot.  Especially in the heat of the summer, it would be nice to travel on a bicycle.  Bikes with baskets are especially nice!

KEY PEOPLE

Scott Foster

Executive Director
Scott was once a busy businessman, he is still a busy man, but his business is different.  These days, he's serving people in his work for the God he loves; hence the name Love God Serve People.  It's what he's been called to do...what about you?

Geneva Poss

After working with the Hope Center, here in Murfreesboro, and Family and Children Life Center in Arkansas, Geneva is the Outreach Director for The Journey Home.  For the first couple of years, she worked out of her car to help people and spent the rest of her free time helping to clean the building we now call "home."

YOU?

The Community Cafe' needs someone (more than one someone) to replace our beloved Marcia.  Are you interested?

Our Story

YOU

You are an important part of the recipe for success here at The Journey Home.

As a client:  We are glad to have YOU here with us.  Come in and allow us to serve you, show you love, and remind you that you are not alone.

As a volunteer:  Whether you simply choose to stop by early in the morning and have your devotional with a cup of coffee, or if you decide to jump in and be in the middle of things that are happening here at 308 West Castle Street. YOU are sure to see how you are being used by God in others' lives.

THEM

If you are here to help as a volunteer, you might think of "them" as the homeless, the disadvantaged.  The truth is, "they" are not so different from you.  Many of our clients were holding great jobs, livingin nice houses, and living a fairly normal life not so long ago.  What you will learn quickly is that our clients are here for the most part because they have suffered a blow in life that has knocked them out of the place they've been for most of their lives.

If you are a client looking at the volunteers as "Them," chances are, you are feeling a little uncomfortable asking for help

Prayers and People

  • We believe in the power of Prayer.  It is our fervent hope that you will pray for our ministry, our workers, and our clients.
  • We serve people and we NEED people.  We need people who have a desire to serve in a hands-on ministry, caring for people through cooking, listening, and working where they are needed.

Our Site

Love God, Serve People

This site is our way of having a presence on the web.  If you are looking for help, for a place to help, or just trying to see what resources are out there, we hope this site will help you in your personal journey.

308 West Castle Street

308 West Castle Street is the home of our physical site.  We are in the blue building with the "The Journey Home" sign on the front of the building.  Like our web site, our actual place of business is a site we hope you'll check out.  It's a wonderful place to see God at work in people's lives, including your own life.  Whether you want to come serve lunch or eat lunch, provide for laundry services or do your laundry, you will find a place with all of the conveniences of home.
